Recently, we paid a visit to Alessi’s London showroom to preview the new ranges being added to the design house’s already extensive portfolio for Spring/Summer 2010.
The internationally acclaimed Piero Lissoni is joined by Pierre Hermé (working with matali crasset) and Martí Guixé in creating collections for bathroom, kitchen and living spaces respectively. Lissoni’s trademark sleek lines in white and chrome are ideal for clean, clinical bathroom spaces, whereas Guixé’s selection of customisable clocks, bowls, vessels and a “Seed Safe,” used for storing seeds which can later be planted, is both practical and playful.
Mix loves Parisian pastry chef Hermé’s ‘Essentiel de Pattissiere’ collection, a collaboration with the French designer matali crasset, which accents baking utensils with orange non-slip rubber and includes a Melamine cake serving plate.
The duo also presents the ‘Cul-de-poul’ mixing bowl which has a pre-formed well in its structure; ideal for beating separate ingredients, this feature also acts as a grip for the user when whisking. A great way to bring a little gourmet food and design into the home!
