Occupying a lot at Alameda Jaú in the Jardins district, Deliqatê is a restaurant designed by FGMF Arquitetos, based in Brazil. The new building is a big steel grey structure wedged into a small space, supporting the slabs of the three stores and the roofing, also locking in the pre-existing neighbouring walls. The architects wanted to blur the lines between building and street, so opted for no fences or walls. Six metres of glass are divided into two sections, the lower with sliding panels, the upper fixed.
The colour palette for the building is quite neutral, reflecting materials including concrete slabs and Portuguese paving, lifted by the use of plants and brightly coloured furniture. www.fgmf.com.br
