In our latest issue of Mix magazine we take a look at our colour trend story Axis and its application in design by the early adopters.
Nature’s angularity forms the geometric basis of Axis, focusing on patterns within the natural world, from the crystals of a snowflake to the landscapes revealed by an electron microscope. This pale, muted palette of otherworldly pinks, greys and blues lends itself to an arid setting, evoking visions of barren shorelines.
Frameworks and skeletons provide a structure in a blurred landscape with stainless steel or, conversely, corroded metal. There is an ethereal and fractured nature to this story, but with a post-apocalyptic edge; all empty seas and strange detritus on the tide line, a prospect that is not as distant as we would like to think.
