Where Architects Live

Salone del Mobile’s big draw installation for 2014, presented at pavilion 9, was curated by Francesca Molteni and Davide Pizzigoni. Enlisting help from eight internationally fêted architectural practices; Shigeru Ban, Mario Bellini, David Chipperfield, Massimilano and Doriana Fuksas, Zaha Hadid, Marcio Kogan, Daniel Libeskind and Bijoy Jain/ Studo Mumbai, the idea was to take a very personal approach, throwing open the doors of these architect’s ‘private homes.’ The installation was a cross referencing reflection on contemporary architectural trends, asking pertinent questions about what designing a house entails today.
